EHDD continues its winning streak by placing 4th in the 2011 Best Places to Work in the Bay Area (small companies category). The 65-year old architecture, interiors, planning and urban design firm appears on the list for the first time.
Based solely on employee satisfaction, the annual ranking of the Bay Area’s best 125 Best Places to Work is based on a survey commissioned by San Francisco Business Times and conducted with its research partner, Quantum Workplace. Participating companies – 301 total for this year – were categorized based on the size of their workforce in the Bay Area. Employees were surveyed on “team effectiveness, alignment of goals, trust with coworkers, individual contribution, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement and people practices.”
“EHDD is a cultural laboratory, “ observes architect Ursula Currie. A native of Ireland, Ursula has been with the firm for nearly 15 years. “In its pursuit of excellence (in the fields of design, technology and management), EHDD encourages creativity and innovation, while supporting the specific interests and curiosities of its employees.”
