Duncan Ballash, AIA, LEED® AP, BD+C, is a principal at EHDD, also serving as its president since 2005. A critical thinker and innovator, Duncan has led EHDD to national recognition for innovative design, and furthered the firm's global influence in contemporary ecology-minded design. Under Duncan’s leadership, EHDD has created the highest number of net zero energy buildings and LEED Platinum certifications in North America. During his tenure, the firm's services have expanded to include planning and urban design.
Duncan brings deep design and management expertise to a diverse portfolio of academic, institutional, and commercial clients. As chief author of EHDD’s design philosophy in student housing, Duncan’s work has been recognized with numerous awards, including a National AIA Honor Award for Design for a 800-bed housing complex at the University of California, Berkeley.
